Perhaps this is a bold comparison, but this and some of my other recent work remind me of the deep space images coming from the James Webb telescope. There is a certain dramatic feel to the color and layering that feels like nature at play through chemistry. This is chalcedony glass but with a little extra something.
This specific platter, "Wormholes", was a eureka moment for me. I had hit on some subtle techniques and tweaks to my glass chemistry. I've also needed to confront some limitations in my equipment and skills to make these consistently. It's been a long road to get here but I'm very happy with the results. I will sign, date and add the title to the backside in addition to a proper coldworking of the punty-mark.
Measures 12" in diameter. I've ordered some wall display hangers to test with it and will include one if they work well. I'll add a picture of it hung on the wall when they arrive.
